In 1997, Dex Lopaz, Chad E. Williams, Charlie Wade and John Christensen set out to produce a music television show for their Northern California town. They produced two episodes and shopped it around to all the local TV stations except one. After being rejected time after time, John Christensen, the producer decided to try the very last station he for sure thought would turn him down. 15 episodes later and maintaining a fan base of 60 thousand viewers, RAWTV (Regional Artist Web) aired on KCRA Channel 3 the leading station in the 18th television market in the nation.
Little did anyone know but no one on the crew had any prior television experience and the programs were shot in low light and cheap cameras. There was always a need for bands to come out and perform, But RAWTV aired and viewers watched. Ten years later the cast and crew look back upon the days where cheap hamburgers and pizza was a luxury, but never forgetting the wacky fun they had in creating this unique and entertaining show.
The question is…where are they now and is there going to be a rebirth of RAWTV?
